FUGLY! But air doesn't care so it's up to the UCI to reign this crap in, starting with those gawdawful chrono "fairings" stuck on the heads of Visma riders. How long before they come up with a nose-cone setup that covers the rider's shoulders entirely along with the head? Perhaps they need a measurement limit as to how far any of these things can stick out beyond the rider's head?
There is no such thing as going too far in the quest for speed. There are however, definitely mistakes in the quest for speed! Those helmets are a mistake...
Said this a few times but limit aero helmets and clothing to the TT stages and mandate "classic" clothing (no skin suits, no aero socks etc. Jerseys and bib shorts) to normal stages
That little girl pedaling to beat the band….instant grin. Isn’t she demonstrating how we all feel on the inside while riding our bikes no matter our age? Yes!! She’s an inspiration!
On the subject of the helmets that opened to show, you forgot about cooling. When bike races are in the middle of the summer obviously they need as many cooling vents in their helmets as possible. However that bike race wasn't in the middle of summer and many riders were wearing warmer clothing than they would in the middle of summer. So they should also wear a helmet with less cooling vents, these helmets fitted the requirements.

The Premier doesn't want bikes around his neighborhood, and proposed lane cuts threaten commuters along major arteries that are used by thousands. One of which runs along University Ave whereby a large percentage of hospital workers use those lanes to commute daily. The business owners are crying foul over street parking issues but also ignore the fact that people on bikes are much more likely to stop into those places of business on a whim rather than those driving. It's all a lot of fluff over not a lot of substance and it's embarrassing.
Guys, thank you! Whenever I watch your show(s) I have a grin on my face the whole time. Watching is such a refreshing time in these absolutely mean and bonkers times here in the USA. Thank you!
Is that tricycle trailer thing (hack/bodge) near a river? With the wooden pieces on the end, away from the handle bars, it looks like a trolley for an outdoor motor for an inflatable boat, or similar, that needs to be assembled and disassembled each use. Trolley could actually be made to carry outboard motor and inflatable boat in one trip? Perhaps... just guessing.
Maybe on a flat road stage of a grand tour, but on such a variable parcours as oomloop it would be better to not have to wait to click through so many gears
Credit to Eric Hsu. That solution for the cable guide grommets is both too good for a hack, and I can't imagine any manufacturer bothering. Cork and brass. Outstanding!
I feel like school uniforms could play a big part in the gender discrepancy- girls are often in skirts/dresses and cycling a bike in a skirt is rubbish (both cause it's in the way and you'd feel like you're about to flash everyone)
Ive been wearing the Giro Aerohead for years now, so im a bit surprised honestly. I think it looks better than any of the round "normal" helmets with the ugly sunglasses that have to go with them.

A small bit of trivia re: Doug Ford and the Ontario election. Unfortunately, Ford won another majority, so the bike lanes are still in peril, but the Member of Provincial Parliament who introduced the legislation to remove the bike lanes lost his seat.
Back around 2018, a Dutch designer named George Barratt-Jones created the Cyclo-Knitter, which was a stationary bike/loom contraption he’d bring to train stations so people could knit their own scarves. I’m not sure if this is the first instance of the concept, but either way it’s nice to see it progress.
Riding with Matthew "Lefty" Lefthand is no joke! In Zwift or in real life struggling to keep up in the Utah mountains! Super excited to see what he is going to accomplish this year
The trailer/trike in Hack/Bodge is almost certainly a chariot as Si & Dan said. You will probably find a scout group uses the collage as a meeting point and that will be their chariot for racing.
This is a classic case of a tempest in a teapot. The helmets are different from what Dan and Simon are used to, so they're "bad." But they're really just different, and not really even all that different. They have fewer vents but the shape is pretty similar. I just don't see this as a big deal one way or another.
I am a cyclist who lives in Toronto and I am at the opposite end of the political spectrum from Doug Ford. Mr. Ford is the last person who should be dealing with bike lanes in the city, but...the situation is no where near as black and white as you have been suggesting. There is an element of lunacy in some of the City's decisions. My ride to work includes a section of Avenue Road where they have removed the third car lane and replaced it with concrete barriers-no bike lane, just large concrete slabs. Before this, there as a shoulder area for me to ride along. Now there is 6 inches between the concrete barrier and the traffic lane. It is crazy dangerous and completely inexplicable-why have they just blocked off a lane of traffic just to put in concrete blocks. Although the city has installed some excellent bike lanes, they are also responsible for a lot of very poorly designed streets. Bike lanes make us safer but angry drivers make us less safe.
I’ve seen a few aero helmets drifting around our Colorado streets, and they look worse in-person. Maybe Giro and POC could hire engineers who care as much about aesthetic as air flow? F1 engineers have designed helmets that maximize their driver’s speeds and still look amazing. It seems a good-looking, fast helmet is within the realm of possibility.
Just to be accurate the derailleur you speak of does NOT bolt on to the frame. It hangs off the through axle with a clevis. By doing it this way the axle takes all the load and thereby saves the frame or derailleur hanger from potential damage.
i used to have a really vented helmet which i used for the road and gravel, ive got a tt helmet a few months ago and because i dont have the budget for another aero road helmet i use the tt helmet without visor on the roadbike aswell while still using the visor when using the tt bars, its actually great.

If this is a hilly race, the ability to shift smoothly under full load seems like enough to make that worth it.
